Frequently Asked Questions

We take care of all necessary paperwork, insurance verification, and are always available to answer any of your questions. We make the process easy so you can begin therapy as soon as possible.

Can I receive therapy services even without a new injury?

Yes, it doesn’t matter whether you have experienced a life-altering illness, are recovering from a surgery, or wanting to improve your overall health and well-being, our skilled therapists can help you reach your goals. Some clients are referred to us by their doctor but others seek out our services themselves. Whichever way a client comes to us, our therapists have the extensive training, knowledge, and determination to assist you!

Will my therapy services be covered by insurance?

We accept Medicare Part B assignments and will check every client’s insurance benefits prior to starting therapy services. Medicare beneficiaries qualify for occupational therapy visits every calendar year. Your benefits start over every January 1st.

Often insurance will cover your therapy 100%. Medicare beneficiaries are generally covered 80% by their primary Medicare insurance policy and the remaining 20% is covered if a supplemental insurance policy is in place.  If you do not have supplemental insurance, you will be responsible for the remaining 20%. We accept cash or check. Medicare allows continued therapy, pending clients are able to make positive progress toward their therapy goals

I have Medicare. Is this considered "Home Health Therapy?”

No. "Home health therapy" falls under the Medicare Part A benefit for those who are home bound (meaning it is extremely difficult to leave the home). We are a mobile outpatient therapy practice that comes to your home and bills under Medicare Part B. You do not have to be home bound in order to qualify for our services. Think of Quality Home Therapy as an outpatient clinic that makes house-calls!

Do I have to have a doctor’s order for therapy?

In the state of Florida a doctor’s order is not a requirement. You only need to give us a call. Our therapists will reach out to your doctor after your first visit to communicate about any concerns and fax over the plan of care.

What can I expect at my first appointment with the occupational, physical, or speech therapist?

Your therapist will provide an evaluation of all issues and determine an appropriate treatment plan based on your needs, desires, and goals. Evaluations typically last for about one hour.

How often will I have therapy each week?

Once the evaluation is completed, the therapist will recommend frequency and duration based on your needs, scheduling preferences, and best ways to reach your goals.

I am the primary caregiver for my loved one with dementia. Could they benefit from therapy? What if they are resistant to participate?

This is often a common concern among family members, but our experienced therapists have the knowledge and training to help your loved one feel supported and comfortable during their therapy sessions. Many of our clients with a diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s have shown increased independence with activities of daily living, and improvements in strength, mobility, balance, behaviors, appetite, safety awareness, and more.

Do you offer physical therapy or speech therapy services?

Yes, we are proud to offer all three therapy disciplines:

Occupational Therapy

Physical Therapy

Speech Therapy

Is in-home therapy as effective as going to an outpatient clinic?

Absolutely! Expensive rehab equipment is not needed to provide an effective rehab program. Our therapists are uniquely trained to utilize available resources within the home to maximize functional outcomes.  Light exercise equipment may be used to assist with reaching your treatment goals.
